Bullying in the workplace not only makes for a horrible working environment , especially for those being bullied, but for a less productive workplace. As we said in our Happiness at Work Week, a happy work place is a productive workplace.

Anti Bullying Week 11th to 15th November

There is no legal definition of bullying. But it is usually defined as repeated behaviour which is intended to hurt someone either emotionally or physically, and is often aimed at certain people because of their race, religion, gender or sexual orientation or any other aspect such as appearance or disability.

In the workplace, bullying is a form of abusive behaviour where an individual or a group of people, create an intimidating or humiliating work environment for another. This is with the purpose of harming their dignity, safety and well-being. This can make those subjected to it anxious, depressed and it might affect their family life too.

As employers we should keep our eyes and ears open and IMMEDIATELY put a stop to bullying in the WORKPLACE.

World Kindness Day

During this week of Anti Bullying celebrate World Kindness Day.

This day aims to increase the value of kindness in society as well as increase the amount of kind acts that take place nationwide, making kindness a greater part of day to day life.

As a business and a business owner we may wish to show more kindness today and our appreciation to those who work for or with us...... there are may things we could try to do, here are a few suggestions: - A kindness day award. send out a kindness day email showing your appreciation, raise money for a local charity, organise an office treat, offer kindness day discounts.
